INTRODUCTION TO THE WENSA CHOD LINEAGE – is carried out via livestream

Friday 17. April – Sunday 26. April 2020; 9 days
Course language: English , Translation to: Deutsch

Due to the Corona Virus, the course cannot be held in Ganden Chökhor. But there is the possibility to join the whole course via livestream. The details will follow after the course registration. If you have questions: info@ganden.ch

The Wensa Chöd practice is from the collection of Manjushri, after a very secret practice of Lama Tsongkhapa. She was transferred by Lama Tsongkhapa, with a few masters in between, to the great master Gyelwa Ensapa Losang Döndrup, the 1st Panchen Rinpoche, and was called Wensa Chöd.

Chöd is a unique holistic training system within Tibetan Buddhism that simultaneously trains body, language and mind through meditation, visualization, sound and rhythm. Chöd means cutting off selfish, habitual thinking and behavior so that the natural openness, clarity, and sensitivity of our minds can manifest.

The great teachings of the Chöd go back directly to Buddha Shakyamuni and is therefore based on, the Buddhist philosopy, the Lam Rim / graded path to enlightenment, the Middle Way, Mahamuda or Dzogchen.

Lodrö Rinpoche gives explanations of the practice in the morning and in the afternoon the participants learn / practice the drumming and the old melodies of the text visualization. In the evening, the group practices chöd together with Rinpoche.

In Tibet, advanced Chöd practitioners were able to heal, and even fight epidemics, mental and physical illnesses.

Livestream for everyone in the here and now

In times of the “Corona Virus Crisis”

Due to the current situation, the courses planned for April in Ganden Chökhor will be postponed. The house is closed for visitors.

At the moment there is a livestream with Avalokiteshvara and Tonglen teachings by the Ven. Lama Lodrö Rinpoche. On Saturday 21.3.2020 an initiation Buddha Nagarajashora will be transmitted via livestream.

Dear Dharma friends, students, pupils of Lodrö Rinpoche and interested parties.

After further consultation and planning with Lodrö Rinpoche, it has been decided that the Avalokithesvara course will start as planed from March 13-22, 2020 in Ganden Chökhor. From Sunday morning onwards, we also want to make the teachings of Lodrö Rinpoche available as a live stream for those of you who cannot attend the course in person. Delayed viewing will most probably also be possible – i.e. the streaming can be watched later or the following day. It was particularly important to us that participants who had to cancel due to the unfortunate circumstances, nevertheless have the chance to “be there”.

The live stream is generally available to interested students after online registration. The teachings are expected to take place from Sunday (March 15) to Thursday (March 19) each morning from around 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. A fire puja with Rinpoche is also planned for Saturday. If the programme were to change, we would inform those of you who have registered accordingly. On Saturday morning (March 21) an inauguration of Buddha Nagarajashora is scheduled.

These upcoming valuable teachings from Lodrö Rinpoche take place at a time that is extraordinarily challenging and drastic for all of us. The advice of a master like Lodrö Rinpoche comes as a “gift from heaven” for everyone at such moments.

In order to be able to offer the live broadcast, we had to make investments in hardware, software and equipment on very short notice. We are confident that the transmission will work, even if there are some technical challenges for us with the rather weak internet connection in Pradaschier.

After consultation with Rinpoche, we are of the opinion that those who follow the teaching via streaming should also make a cost contribution. In view of the usual fees for participants in Ganden (Dana etc.), we have set the minimum registration fee (including Dana to Rinpoche) for the entire course at CHF 180. Higher donations according to individual abilities and at your own discretion are of course welcome.

As always and as a further alternative, audio recordings of the course will be available in a few weeks.

For ordained monks and nuns, access is offered through sponsorship contributions and is thus free of charge (Dana individually).

Please go to www.ganden.ch/stream to register.

Questions to Rinpoche are possible – please ask by e-mail via stream@ganden.ch. We will forward them accordingly in confidence or, if appropriate, even address them in front of the group.

Public life has nearly come to a standstill at the moment and the present is more palpable than in previous years. In this sense, we wish you all a lot of courage, commitment and good health for the coming time.

TARA PRAYER and MANTRA

TARA PRAYER and MANTRA

His Holiness the Dalai Lama recommends all Buddhists to practice Tara – wherever they have the opportunity.

20. Tara, inhabitant of the mountains (Drolma Ritröma; Skt. Tārā Śabarī) to protect against epidemics.

Venerable Lama Lodrö Rinpoche recommends meditating on the practice of the bright, orange 20th Tara and reciting mantras in order to be able to connect with the energy, and in prayer to send and touch all sentient beings with orange Tara light. This Tara Sabari from the 21st Taras specializes in the circumstances of epidemics. It belongs to the Kryia Yoga and can also be practiced by those who have not received an empowerment by a lama.

Attached you will find a Sadhana of the orange 20th Tara from Master Atisha. These 21 different sadhanas / visualization instructions were translated directly from Tibetan by Lodrö Rinpoche over 20 years ago and compiled by Rachel Wooten.

The Tara Sabari Mantra according to Master Atisha is: OM TARE TUTTARE TURE SARVA VIDYA DHI ZORA PRASHA MANAYE SOHA

OM May your body, speech and mind bless and protect my three gates
TARE Liberator
TUTTARE Liberator from spiritual poverty or unenlightened awareness
TURE Fast liberator
SARVA All
VIDYA DHI Epidemics
ZORA General
PRASHA Perfect
MANAYE Destroy
SOHA His blessing should remain

In February 2020, Venerable Lodrö Rinpoche performed a special ritual for epidemics in his home in Erlenbach. Rinpoche greets everyone warmly and asks us to practice Tara prayers together, thinking about the suffering of people and the problems that follow, with the wish that they can be soothed.

Ven. Lodrö Tulku Rinpoche – TONGLEN – MEDITATIONPRACTICE OF BUDDHA AVALOKITESHVARA WITH 1000 ARMS 13.3. – 22.3.2020

Ven. Lodrö Tulku Rinpoche

TONGLEN – the practice of Buddha Avalokiteshvara with 1000 arms

Friday 13. March 2020, 18:00 Uhr – Sunday 22. March 2020, 14:00 Uhr; 9 days
Course language: English , Translation to: Deutsch

On Friday and Saturday the Venerable Lodrö Rinpoche gives the grand empowerment of the 1000 armed Buddha Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Great Compassion (Kryiayoga).

From Sunday, Rinpoche will give a daily commentary and introduction to the practice of the Buddha Avalokiteshvara with 1,000 arms from 9:30 to 11:30 am – with the additional focus on tonglen – the altruistic exchange with oneself and other living beings.

The group will learn and practice the sadhana (practice instructions) with meditation / visualization / mantra recitation of the practice of the 1000 armed Avalokithesvara in meditation sessions before breakfast, in the afternoon and in the evening, with the intention that every participant after the week in the is able to practice independently. There should also be enough time – to reflect and pause individually in silence.

We conclude the retreat with a fire puja (traditional closing ritual).
