Livestream for everyone in the here and now
In times of the “Corona Virus Crisis”
Due to the current situation, the courses planned for April in Ganden Chökhor will be postponed. The house is closed for visitors.
At the moment there is a livestream with Avalokiteshvara and Tonglen teachings by the Ven. Lama Lodrö Rinpoche. On Saturday 21.3.2020 an initiation Buddha Nagarajashora will be transmitted via livestream.
Dear Dharma friends, students, pupils of Lodrö Rinpoche and interested parties.
After further consultation and planning with Lodrö Rinpoche, it has been decided that the Avalokithesvara course will start as planed from March 13-22, 2020 in Ganden Chökhor. From Sunday morning onwards, we also want to make the teachings of Lodrö Rinpoche available as a live stream for those of you who cannot attend the course in person. Delayed viewing will most probably also be possible – i.e. the streaming can be watched later or the following day. It was particularly important to us that participants who had to cancel due to the unfortunate circumstances, nevertheless have the chance to “be there”.
The live stream is generally available to interested students after online registration. The teachings are expected to take place from Sunday (March 15) to Thursday (March 19) each morning from around 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. A fire puja with Rinpoche is also planned for Saturday. If the programme were to change, we would inform those of you who have registered accordingly. On Saturday morning (March 21) an inauguration of Buddha Nagarajashora is scheduled.
These upcoming valuable teachings from Lodrö Rinpoche take place at a time that is extraordinarily challenging and drastic for all of us. The advice of a master like Lodrö Rinpoche comes as a “gift from heaven” for everyone at such moments.
In order to be able to offer the live broadcast, we had to make investments in hardware, software and equipment on very short notice. We are confident that the transmission will work, even if there are some technical challenges for us with the rather weak internet connection in Pradaschier.
After consultation with Rinpoche, we are of the opinion that those who follow the teaching via streaming should also make a cost contribution. In view of the usual fees for participants in Ganden (Dana etc.), we have set the minimum registration fee (including Dana to Rinpoche) for the entire course at CHF 180. Higher donations according to individual abilities and at your own discretion are of course welcome.
As always and as a further alternative, audio recordings of the course will be available in a few weeks.
For ordained monks and nuns, access is offered through sponsorship contributions and is thus free of charge (Dana individually).
