Embodying Tara: 21 Taras for the 21 Century

In coming to know Tara, Lopön Chandra offers this reflection:
“One could say Tārā is the non-conceptual nature of our own pristine awareness. So why should we even try to define her? … so that we can honour and understand her, write poems to her, meditate on her, recite mantras to her, so that we can find meaning in our lives and traverse the ocean of our own suffering.”
A Residential Retreat w/ Dorje Lopön Chandra Easton
In this retreat, Lopön Chandra will reveal the first seven of the 21 aspects of Tara, the female Buddha of Compassion. A Bodhisattva, a Buddha, a Mother Goddess, and a Tantric Deity, Tara may be translated as “Star” but she is more commonly known as ‘The Saviouress.” Eventually there came to be twenty-one aspects of Tara as found in the Praises to the 21 Taras Tantra.
Tara teaches us to befriend our fears and embody the wisdom that is within each of us. Through guided meditations, mantra recitation, and inspiring stories about real women you will gain knowledge and personal experience about the myriad qualities of these Taras.
In this retreat we will meditate, chant mantra, do gentle yoga, and experience community. There will be plenty of time for your rest and integration of the practices.
All are welcome. No prior meditation or yoga experience required.
Fee (various documents for the seminar): about 15-30 francs. Can be paid directly on site.

The Dana for the teacher is not included in the course fee and can be given by each participant individually during the course.
