MBSR (Mindfullness-Based Stress Reduction)
MBSR was developed in 1979 by Prof. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University Hospital of Massachusetts (USA) and is offered with great success at many clinics, social and educational institutions and in companies within the USA and increasingly also in Europe. At the heart of the MBSR programme is the promotion of mindfulness, i.e. the ability to be and remain in contact with the current experience without getting lost in thoughts, assessments, worries or fears. Through the regular practice of mindfulness, MBSR promotes well-being and a more conscious handling of stress in everyday life. MBSR is concerned with questions of daily life and can be visited by people of all ages regardless of profession and worldview. (Info MBSR Association CH)
