H.E Kyabje Zong Rinpoche 2017

Recognize Buddha-nature through the combination of method and compassion

In this multi-day course, H.E. Zong Rinpoche will explain the principles of method and wisdom and how to build an everyday practice according to Buddhist philosophy and psychology. As an important element, Rinpoche will show how one can develop positive motivation for fellow human beings and the living beings around us and practice compassion with simple meditation exercises. Applied compassion in everyday life enables empathetic understanding of others and can be de-escalating in conflict situations.

Using concrete examples, H.E. Zong Rinpoche will explain the basis of the Buddhist mentality of bodhichitta. Bodhichitta is the deeply felt desire to liberate all living things from suffering and problems, and to put them in a state of lasting happiness. This desire arises from the method of loving kindness and compassion and can be put into action thanks to wisdom, so that the goal of bodhicitta can be achieved without prejudice and unconditionally.

The course is open to interested people of all denominations and requires no prior knowledge.

The jewelery of liberation fuses the basic teachings of the Kadampa and Mahamudra teachings. Khenchen Konchog Gyaltshen Rinpoche is a “Gampopa expert” and will explain the wisdom chapter here.

Liberation from the four attachment

Friday 13. September 2019, 6 pm – Sunday 15. September 2019, 2 pm; 2 days
Course language: English , Translation to: Deutsch

Grown up in both cultures – East and West – Tulku Jigme Thrinley Rinpoche is a bridge between these two worlds. He was recognized by both – His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche and Kyabje Trulshik Rinpoche (Nyingma – teacher of His Holiness the Dalai Lama) – as an important reincarnated Nyingma teacher of the “old school” of Tibetan Buddhism.

He was born in India, son of Naljorma Jangchup Palmo, who is highly regarded as a “hidden yogini” – a female chöd meditation master. His mother had a profound influence on Rinpoche’s spiritual life. Under the careful guidance of His Holiness Sakya Trizin Rinpoche, Kyabje Trülshik Rinpoche, Kyabje Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche, Kyabje Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche and Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche he studied both: philosophy and practice of Tibetan Buddhism. From His Holiness the Dalai Lama and these outstanding masters Rinpoche received direct introduction to the nature of mind, many important initiations, text transmissions and instructions of the four tradition lines.

He teaches with humor, clarity and wisdom, according to the “Western spirit”.

Liberation from the four attachments

A short instruction that Mañjuśrī gave to the Sakya Patriarch Sachen Kunga Nyingpo.

When he was twelve years old, the great Sachen Kunga Nyingpo devoted six months to a practice of the Bodhisattva Mañjuśrī. One day he had a vision in which he actually saw the holy Lord Mañjuśrī, orange in the midst of radiant light. He sat on a throne studded with jewels, his two feet stood on the floor, and he performed the Mudrā of Dharma teaching. He was flanked on both his sides by a Bodhisattva each. Mañjuśrī said the following to him:

  • If you are attached to this life, you are not a true spiritual practitioner;
  • If you are attached to samsara, you do not have renunciation;
  • If you are attached to your own self-interest, you have no bodhicitta;
  • If there is grasping, you do not have the View.
When Sachen Kunga Nyingpo examined the truth of these words, he understood that the entire practice of the Pāramitā path was summarized in this mental training of liberation from the four attachments, and he came to an extraordinary conviction and insight regarding all the teachings of the Dharma.

Tulku Jigme Thrinley Rinpoche wishes to not focus on this teaching in a philosophical way, but instead connect them directly with our every day life situation. He will therefore go into some points less and deepen some others more.

Ven. Lodrö Tulku Rinpoche Tsogle Chod Retreat 30.8. – 8.9.2019

Ven. Lodrö Tulku Rinpoche

Tsogle Chod Retreat

Friday 30. August 2019, 6 pm – Sunday 8. September 2019, 2 pm; 9 days
Course language: English , Translation to: Deutsch

Friday evening: Initiation of white Heruka Chakrasamvara (long life practice). Saturday morning: Initiation Tsogle Chöd

For the second time Lodrö Rinpoche explains the Tsogle practice in a Chöd retreat. The current Lodrö Rinpoche (6th Tulku) will comment more deeply on the text of his predecessor Lodrö Jampa Temple, the 3rd Lodrö Tulku from the 19th century. It is a shorter practice version – which lasts about 1.5 – 2 hours if you practice it. (Normally a Tsogle Chöd practice takes about 3-6 hours or longer). The text is based on the text of the 3rd Karmapa Rangjung Dorje.

The Tsogle Chöd practice is practiced mainly by the Kagyüpas, the Nyingmapas, but also by the Gelugpas. It goes back through the 3rd Karmapa Rangjung Dorje from the 13th/14th century, to Machig Labdrön, who lived in the 10th/11th century. The Lodrö lineage has a close connection with the Tsogle Chöd from the past.

We are very pleased that Lodrö Rinpoche has agreed to translate the text of his predecessor into German/English for us and to comment on it completely for interested Chöd practitioners. In the morning Lodrö Rinpoche gives explanations on the practice and in the afternoon the participants learn/practice the drumming and the old melodies of text visualization. In the evening the group practices choral practice together with Rinpoche.

Chöd is a unique holistic practice system within Tibetan Buddhism that trains body, speech and mind simultaneously through meditation, visualization, sound and rhythm. Chöd means: cutting off the egoistic, habitual thinking and behaviour, so that natural openness, clarity and sensitivity of our mind can manifest itself.

The great teaching of the Chöd goes back directly to Buddha Shakyamuni and is therefore based on the Buddhist philosophy, the Lam Rim/step path to enlightenment, the Middle Way, the Mahamuda or the Dzogchen.

In Tibet, advanced chöd practitioners were able to support mentally and physically ill people, heal them and even fight epidemics.

In the meditation center Ganden Chökhor a training course of several years to the transmission lines of the Chöd (Wensa, Schiwa Lamsab and Gyälthang- and Tsogle Chöd) is offered under the direction of the venerable Lama Lodrö Rinpoche.

Heart Essence Dzogchen Teachings (DZOGCHEN NYINGTHIG) Continuation/Deepening

YESHE TSOGYALTreasure Texts just recently revealed by Adzom Paylo Rinpoche

Wisdom is the essence of Dakini. Each line of this practice opens a facet of the jewel of their presence. This practice is complete and simple, it reflects the power of its discoverer.

Adzom Rinpoche, one of the most important Dzogchen masters in Tibet today, had a direct vision of Yeshe Tsogyal about ten years ago when he visited her sacred soul lake. The unique practice that we will learn during our retreat is the result of that encounter. According to the ancient (Nyingma) Tibetan traditions, this is considered a treasure (Ter) hidden by Guru Rinpoche in the 8th century to be found at the right time by an appointed person, in this case Adzom Rinpoche. This practice is now part of Rinpoche’s own treasure cycle, the Heart Essence of Clear Light (‘Od gsal snying thig).

Adzom Rinpoche has asked Lama Rigzin Drolma (Anne C. Klein) to teach and comment on this profound practice.

Anne writes: “I am honored and pleased to share this practice with all who have a serious interest in it and who wish to enter or deepen the Dzogchen Way. Continued practice will open the treasure door to the essence of this practice. “

Schiwa Lamsab Chod Retreat – Initiation, commentary and practice instructions

Friday 14. June 2019, 6 pm – Sunday 23. June 2019, 2 pm; 9 days
Course language: English , Translation to: Deutsch

Initiation of Heruka Chakrasamvara Sahaja and “Heaven opening initiation” of the Chod practice according to the Schiwa Lamsab tradition.

The tradition of Schiwa Lamsab/Oral Tradition of Dakini dates back to the 13th century and to Master Jamyang Gonpo, a disciple of Machig Labdrön’s son Gyälwa Thondrup.

Jamyang Gonpo himself has seen Machig Labdrön in visions several times. This lineage became a union of different masters like him, the son, as well as the grandson of Machig Labdrön and further pioneers of the Chod practice at that time.

The Venerable Lodrö Tulku Rinpoche is one of the few, if not the only, teachers worldwide to pass this lineage on. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama himself said that this lineage should be practiced and blossom again as it once did. Rinpoche explains the practice in the morning and in the afternoon the participants learn/practice the drumming and the old melodies of text visualization.

In the evening, the group practices this chod practice together with Lodrö Rinpoche.

Chod is a unique holistic practice system within Tibetan Buddhism, which uses meditation, visualization, sound and rhythm to train body, speech and mind simultaneously. Chod means “cutting off” the selfish, habitual thinking and behavior so that the natural openness, clarity and sensitivity of our mind can manifest itself. In Tibet, advanced chod practitioners have been able to support, heal and even fight epidemics of mental and physical illnesses. Under the direction of Lama Lodrö Rinpoche, the Ganden Chökhor Meditation Centre offers a multi-year training course on the transmission lines of Chod (Wensa, Schiwa Lamsab, Gyälthang and Tsogle).

Ascent course Vajrayana

S. E. Loden Sherab Dagyab Kyabgön Rinpoche

Wednesday 29. May 2019, 6 pm – Sunday 2. June 2019, 2 pm; 4 days
Course language: Deutsch , Translation to: English

The course of H. E. Kyabgon Dagyab Rinpoche is being redesigned for current health reasons.

H. E. Kyabgon Dagyab Rinpoche has to undergo various ocular surgeries at short notice and is therefore unable to carry out the planned inaugurations of the second part of the Bari Lotsawa collection at the end of May 2019.

We hope to continue the second part of the transfer cycle with Dagyab Rinpoche soon.

At the request of Dagyab Rinpoche and Lodrö Rinpoche, we will offer an alternative program dedicated to the health and long life of Dagyab Rinpoche. Lodrö Rinpoche will be giving the great Ushnishavijaya initiation from the Mitrayoki collection, with the possibility that we all will be able to practice this long life practice for Dagyab Rinpoche together.

Lodrö Rinpoche has suggested that Shenphen Rinpoche could also participate in the Alternative Program. Fortunately, Shenphen Rinpoche has already pledged to offer lectures on two mornings of Lam Rim. We are grateful to Lodrö Rinpoche and Shenphen Rinpoche for providing us with such a profound program in the short term.

Being able to dedicate the accumulated earnings to the health of Dagyab Rinpoche, given the current situation, is the best we can do at the moment.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.

sincerely
Your Ganden Chökhor team

The Mandala Principle with Chöden (Sean McGovern)

Monday 20. May 2019, 6 pm – Saturday 25. May 2019, pm; 5 days
Course language: English , Translation to: Deutsch

In this retreat practical exercises are given on mindfulness, self-compassion and insight, which form the basis for our compassionate self, a core of Compassion Focussed Therapy, to inhabit and to find the center of our personal mandala. We explore how mindfulness and compassion relate to our inner world and compassion to change our way of life. Through this we learn to hold and transform our own struggles and conflicts with compassion and wisdom. This, in turn, strengthens us, the difficulties of others to be able to hold. We are getting more and more into the center of our personal mandala. The principle of the Mandala is derived from Tantric Buddhism and is a model with which we can get along in our inner world.

When we set up in the center, we find a place of peace and quiet integration and we begin to appreciate the preciousness and richness of our various shares recognize.

Finally, to experience this deeply connects us to the insight of the interconnectedness of all being (interbeing: Thich Nhat Hanh). We also see that when we connect with wisdom and compassion at the center of our being, that part of us has never been damaged – it has always been whole and perfect, despite all the injuries and traumas we have suffered in our lives.

Part of the retreat will be in silence.

Course costs: 600 CHF

Course language: English , Translation to: Deutsch

Lu Jong, Tibetan Healing Yoga is a simple and very effective way to connect with the power, clarity and happiness of our true nature. Balance and healing through a meditative practice that brings attention, happiness and much tenderness. Lu Jong is love in motion, healing in action. It is a compilation of yogas from the ancient Tibetan traditions of Tantric Buddhism and Bon. For more than 15 years, Tulku Lobsang has been sharing his deep knowledge of these techniques in the West, integrating them and adapting them to current needs and thoughts.

Inma Vicente

Lu Jong’s purpose is to open the chakras and channels of the body both physically and on a more subtle or energetic level, which is essential for a healthy body and a calm, wise and compassionate state of mind. It is a practice that brings body, breath and mind into harmony and thus benefits meditative practice and supports a longer, happier and healthier life. Lu Jong compensates for the lack of physical movement in our current lifestyle, which causes the most common disorders such as back problems, stress and emotional imbalance.

The course is intended for beginners.

Lu Jong teachers and trainers can attend these courses to improve or deepen their personal and professional practice and knowledge.
