Her Eminence, Mindrolling Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche was born in 1967 and is the eldest daughter of Kyabje Mindrolling Trichen Gyurme Künzang Wangyal, the 11th throne holder of the well-known Mindrolling line.

The Mindrolling Lineage is one of the six main Nyingma Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. Some of the greatest Tibetan masters of their time were born in this line. In the mindrolling line there is the unique tradition of Jetsünmas, female masters and great teachers. The Jetsünmas are daughters of different Mindrolling thron holders.

When Jetsünma Khandro Rinpoche was ten months old, she was recognized as the reincarnation of the great Dakini of Tshurpu, Khandro Orgyen Tsomo, the Wife of the 15th Karmapa. Kandro Orgyen Tsomo was known throughout Tibet as a revered master.

Thus, Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche, as Jetsünma in the Mindrolling Line, is also a Tulku in the Kagyu Line and holds both, the Nyingma and the Kagyu Lines. Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche runs various Dharma centers around the world where she teaches and gives transmissions. She shares her time with teaching, retreats and studies.
